Job Description
Purpose and Objective of Position
The Senior Manager Business Development China will be an integral part of the small but dynamic China Business Development Team at DFS. His/ her main objective is to lead and facilitate DFS group's strategic entrance in China domestic airport duty paid space, as well as strategize, lead, and facilitate other key China Business Development initiatives to fast track the company's expansion in China.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop an in-depth strategy for DFS to expand into China domestic airport duty paid space.
- Make connections with relevant airport authorities and regulators.
- Understand/uncover the current airport economics; gain solid insight on how to enter.
- Strategic planning and assessing profitable entry opportunity at each DFS target airport and develop bidding strategy accordingly.
- Taking on PMO role and coordination role with airports during execution phase should DFS win any concession.
- Perform financial and quantitative analysis for airport bids, including financial modeling, valuation analysis and scenario simulations.
- Developing structured, quantitative support for convincing presentations relating to potential projects with relevant stakeholders.
- Develop strong and constructive relationships with key business stakeholders (store development, merchandising, operations, etc).
- Contribute/add value to other China BD expansion plans.

Key Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Graduate degree.
- Years of experience, preferably within airport/ duty free retail space.
- CPA or CFA an advantage. Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead multiple stakeholders and deliver a project end-to-end.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
- Independent self-starter who is strong in framing strategic questions and structuring actionable workplans
- A problem solver with analytical & strategic thinking and high agility with numbers
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills. Confident in engaging senior leadership.
- Develop process documentation, project metrics and data visualization (flow charts, PPT visuals and excel) for department communication.
- Excellent command of spoken/written Mandarin and English highly essential.
- Management consulting or other professional services experience preferred.
- Interest in the luxury travel retail industry preferred.
