We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of RB-S Engineering.

Principal responsibilities

.Contribute to stakeholder / customer on program planning and roadmap strategy

.Have a strong understanding of the business domain and engage with the business on roadmap planning and lead its execution

.Drive transition of global roles and program ownership within Technology China

.Elevate the engagement maturity and drive increased customer satisfaction on a year-on-year basis

.Actively manage AMBER/RED projects and ensure relevant actions to bring them to GREEN are undertaken

.Clearly understands the Group Strategy and translates it into immediate business/function

.Defines a clear strategy for the unit and drives its implementation with short and long term plan of action

.Anticipates future business needs based on market trends and proactively provides inputs to business to leveraging upcoming opportunities or meet new challenges

.Champion change across HSBC

.Identifies and grooms the next level of leaders

.Maximizes employee engagement

.Champions diversity and inclusion within immediate business/function

.Live the HSBC Values and encourage team members to adhere to the values

.Maintains oversight of BRCM compliance across all programs

.Ensure adherence to Group compliance policy

.Actively manages and mitigates the risks associated with the work role

.Ensures MSIIs are actively identified and managed

.Identifies and manages staff and skill related risks

.The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.

.The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term 'compliance' embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.

.This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.

.Lead delivery of complex multi-technology / cross-domain programs via teams at multiple locations.

.Role - Managing Global Engineering teams across locations in Mexico, China, India, Hong Kong, UK and Dubai.

.Team Size of 1000+ across all HSBC locations

Customers / Stakeholders

.Building strong relationship and Effective Communication

.Adherence to quality standards and procedures:

.Periodic meetings with all RB&S stakeholders - including Global, Regional Business, Technology China

.Conduct peer reviews to ensure standards are followed

.Prepare all documents as per quality procedures

.Keeping all stakeholders informed along with periodic meetings

Operational Effectiveness & Control

.Certify all RB&S applications are met CPA and auto feed for certification process

.Internal and External Audit findings or issues

.Ensuring strict adherence to all regulatory issues and compliance of all internal controls

.Perform roleswaps of all production systems at periodic intervals

.All RB&S production systems are accessible thru TPAM/PAR process only.

.No High audit findings/issues on RB&S systems

.Implement and comply with Group Compliance Policy

.Considering the operational risk with the access right shared to various roles.

.All production systems are performed the roleswaps as per the required duration.

Management of Risk

.The jobholder will also continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.

.This will be achieved by ensuring all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring. Also by addressing any areas of concern in conjunction with line management and/or the appropriate department.

Requirements

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

.Qualification:Bachelor/Masters in relevant engineering discipline.

.Experience:In depth industry experience at a senior/thought leadership levelRelevant and current hands on engineering experience in the following Technologies

.AWS, API/Service Mesh Engineering, Dev-Ops SDLC Tooling, TDD & DevOps Mobile (Andriod & iOS), Java (Plus family of languages), Data-Engineering

.Domain Experience: In depth experience of Retail Banking - Unsecured/Secured Lending, FX & Payments, Wealth Contextual Banking
